If you're a fan of Techno, Progressive House, Deep House, House Music, or Acid House, you've come to the right place. At 33 years old, Andres Solano has dedicated over 16 years to crafting unforgettable experiences on the dancefloor, blending music that ignites the soul and moves the body.
Born in Costa Rica, Andres discovered his passion for music at the age of 16, when buying vinyl records became a thrilling challenge. With limited access to music locally, he sourced records from Miami and through painstaking efforts online. Determined to follow his dreams, Andres often had to lie about his age to perform at Costa Rica's earliest rave parties and clubs. His tenacity paid off, and by 17, he was opening for global icon DJ Satoshi Tomiie.
From that pivotal moment in 2001, Andres quickly became a household name in Costa Rica’s electronic music scene. Performing 3-4 times a week at the best parties, clubs, and events, he shared stages with world-renowned artists such as Dave Seaman, Paul Van Dyk, Hernán Cattáneo, Anthony Pappa, Chris Fortier, Infusion, Tiesto, and Jes, to name just a few.
As an artist, Andres has embraced every evolution in DJ technology. Starting with vinyl, moving to CDs, and now mastering Ableton Live and MIDI controllers, he has redefined what it means to perform live. "I mix more than two tracks simultaneously with loops, vocals, effects, and more. I call it a live DJ performance," he explains.
In 2006, Andres debuted as a producer with his track "Clouds Over the Ocean", which gained global recognition when Paul Van Dyk featured it on his radio show, Vonyc Sessions 079. This collaboration led to two opening performances for Van Dyk. Over the years, Andres has released more than 70 tracks available on platforms such as iTunes, Beatport, Amazon, and Spotify.
A career highlight came in October 2011 when the legendary UK record label Renaissance released his track "Tierra Blanca", handpicked by electronic music pioneer Dave Seaman for the Renaissance Master Series.
Today, Andres invites you to experience his extraordinary DJ mixes. More than just music to dance to, his sets are journeys that transport you to new dimensions of sound and imagination.
At 33 years old, with 16 years of experience in the electronic music scene, Andres Solano has forged a unique and inspiring path as a DJ and producer. His journey began at the age of 16, sourcing vinyl records from Miami and the early days of internet shopping—an arduous task for a young artist in Costa Rica, where access to music was limited. Driven by passion, Andres even had to lie about his age to perform at some of the first rave parties and clubs in the country.
Born into a humble family in Costa Rica, Andres was deeply influenced by his father, Eduardo, who earned a scholarship to study sound engineering in Holland and London in the 1980s. Eduardo worked with the BBC and other studios, creating more than 200 audio productions during his career. Young Andres grew up watching his father edit audio using scissors and reel-to-reel tape, the classic analog production method of the time.
By age six, Andres was already experimenting with sound. Armed with a microphone, cassette tapes, and a double tape stereo, he would create mock radio shows by pressing play and pause. This early exposure to audio engineering and creativity planted the seeds for his future in music.
At just 17, Andres’ career took off when he opened for the legendary Satoshi Tomiie in Costa Rica in 2001. From that point forward, he performed 3–4 times a week at top parties, events, clubs, and bars. Over the years, he has shared stages with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Dave Seaman, Paul Van Dyk, Hernán Cattáneo, Anthony Pappa, Chris Fortier, Infusion, Tiesto, and Jes.
At 18, Andres became the youngest DJ-producer to join the Balance Record Pool, a prestigious collective that included international heavyweights such as DJ Colette, Danny Tenaglia, Chris Fortier, Jimmy Van M, Paul Van Dyk, Peter Hook, Sultan, and Steve Lawler. Although Balance Record Pool closed its doors years later, Andres' inclusion was a defining milestone in his early career.
During his travels to Miami, Andres met Terry Martin, the owner of Street Smart Marketing in San Francisco. Terry, a Chicago native and key figure in the early U.S. rave scene, had close ties to legends like Mark Farina, DJ Sneak, Frankie Knuckles, Derrick Carter, and more. Through these connections, Andres made multiple trips to the Bay Area, absorbing invaluable knowledge about music production, DJ culture, and the history of electronic music.
As an artist, Andres has embraced the evolution of DJ technology, transitioning from vinyl to CDs and now to digital platforms like Ableton Live and MIDI controllers. This adaptability has allowed him to push the boundaries of live DJ performances, blending tracks seamlessly with loops, vocals, and effects to create immersive and innovative soundscapes.
In 2011, at 27 years old and with a decade-long career performing alongside some of the world's greatest DJs—such as Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, Hernán Cattáneo, Dave Seaman, Nick Warren, BT, and more—Andrés paid tribute to dancers around the globe with his album, Rave Alchemist. The production of the album spanned from January to July 2011 and featured nine tracks, including "Tierra Blanca", which was supported by Hernán Cattáneo and Dave Seaman and included in the iconic Renaissance Master Series.
“The work on this project took several months, including many late nights, early mornings, and a great deal of effort,” Andrés shares. “It started like any other project, but as time went on, I realized I wanted to convey a message: to defend our right to dance and express art. Dancing is one of the most primal and unique forms of human expression—a beautiful way to communicate our emotions.
"In the end, the small earnings from album sales could never compare to the joy that comes from creating something that brings people together. This album is a celebration of our collective right to dance, listen to music, and express ourselves freely.
